Obituary of Clifford N. Flanagan

FOWLER- Clifford N. Flanagan, age 84, of Fowler, but formerly of Pyrites, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at his home. Calling hours for Clifford will be on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at French Funeral Home in Edwards. His funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Edwards with Military honors. Condolences may be shared at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com Clifford was born on February 27, 1933 in Pierrepont, NY to the late Stanley and Edna (Fifield) Flanagan. He attended school in Russell. In 1953, he entered into the United States Army, where he served until his honorable discharge in 1955. On August 1, 1959, Clifford married Mary Lottie at the Canton Episcopal Church. He worked at the Russell Cheese Factory for many years as a cheese maker. Clifford was a member of the Canton VFW. He enjoyed woodworking and was always puttering. He loved his dog and loved taking care of his wife, Mary. Surviving are two sons and their wives, Clifford and Brenda and John and Minnie Flanagan; four daughters, Patricia Murdock and her fiancé Chris Backus, Donna and Shawn Miller, Dawn and Francis Cole and Amy and James Belonge. He is also survived by four brothers, six sisters and 39 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Donations may be made in Clifford's memory to the Friends 4 Pound Paws, P.O.
