Obituary of Deborah J. Collins

GOUVERNEUR – Deborah "Debbie" Jean Collins, age 60, of Gouverneur, passed away on June 3, 2017 at the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg. Visitation will be held at the Gouverneur ELKS Lodge on Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. There will be no formal service. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home Inc. in Gouverneur. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Debbie was born on January 4, 1957 in Ogdensburg to the late Raymond Gordon and Dorothy Helen (Cousino) Walrath. She graduated from the Gouverneur Central School in 1975. Debbie had worked as a Certified Nurses Aid for the Kinney Nursing Home. She married Howard L. Collins in Gouverneur on January 31, 2002. Debbie loved her family and going to play Bingo. Her favorite flowers were yellow carnations and tulips and she enjoyed going through cook books and cooking different dishes. Her survivors include her husband, Howard Collins; four children, Tara McCallops, Dustin Walrath, Howie Walrath, and Danielle Walrath; a brother and his wife, Richard and Susan Walrath; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents and a brother, Tom Walrath. Donations in memory of Debbie may be made to her family to offset funeral expenses in care of Danielle Walrath, 407 Smith Road, Gouverneur NY 13642.
