Obituary of Christine Gibbons

DEPEYSTER – Christine Gibbons, age 73, of Depeyster, NY, passed away on November 29, 2017 at her home under the care of Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley. Arrangements are being handled by French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. Christine was born on May 31, 1944 in Gouverneur to the late Charles and Marguerite (Sayers) Perry. She graduated from the Knox Memorial High School in 1962 and married Cephas W. Gibbons on June 15, 1962 in Rochester. Mrs. Gibbons worked in various factory and plant jobs, generally as an assembly line worker. She was also a self employed Home Health Care Aid for many years. Christine and Cephas lived in Rochester for a couple of years before moving to Heuvelton and then to Depeyster around 1966. Christine enjoyed playing Bingo and visiting the casinos with her friends and family in her free time. Cephas passed away on February 19, 2014. Her survivors include three daughters, Julie and Craig Cullen of Florida, Teresa Gibbons of Norfolk, Roberta and Steve Jenne of Norfolk; a son, Scott and Susan Gibbons of Canton; and five grandchildren, Christy Morley, Garrett Cullen, Kayla Cullen, Cody Jenne and Ethan Gibbons. She is also survived by her sister, Susan Pitts of Florida; and two brothers, Sam Howard of Pulaski and John Perry of Ogdensburg. She is predeceased by her parents; a son, Chad W. Gibbons; husband, Cephas; and two brothers, Joseph Perry and Charles Perry, Jr. Donations in memory of Christine may be made to the Heuvelton Fire and First Responders, 95 State Street, Heuvelton NY 13654.
