GOUVERNEUR – Gerard "Jerry" S. Freese, age 75, of Gouverneur, passed away on December 1, 2017 at the Gouverneur Hospital.
There will be a graveside service held in the East Riverside Cemetery in Gouverneur on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home in Gouverneur. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.
Jerry was born on September 28, 1942 in Norman, OK, to the late Gerard H. and Dorothy (Lodds) Freese. He served in the United States Air Force from 1961 until his honorable discharge in 1965.
Jerry married Mertres Ann Wade on March 26, 1961 at St. Patrick's Church in Newburgh, NY.
Mr. Freese built airplanes for Grumman Aviation for 29 years. He then worked as a security guard on Long Island and then for Fort Drum. In his free time, Jerry liked to fish, hunt, and be with his family.
His survivors include his wife, Mertres Freese; three children and their spouses, Lisa and Joseph Abbruzzese, Gerard E. and Monique Freese, Jennifer and Paul Dispignio; a sister, Edna McKinnen; and three grandchildren, Joey and Jane Abbruzzese, Julianna Dispignio and Angelina Dispignio; and several nieces and nephews.
