Obituary of Patricia M. Wayering

EDWARDS - Patricia "Pat" M. Wayering, age 90, of Edwards, passed away on October 1, 2013 at home under the care of her loving family and Hospice. Calling hours will be at French Funeral Home, Edwards on Sunday, October 6, 2013 from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. Her funeral service will be on Monday, October 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Edwards. Burial will follow in the South Edwards Cemetery. Pat was born on October 21, 1922 in Mount Kisco, NY to the late Dominick and Susan (Bricca) Jockimo. She married Donald R. Wayering. Pat and Don built, owned, and operated the Pine Cone Restaurant together in Wanakena. Mr. Wayering passed away on March 16, 1996. Pat also had worked for General Electric in Utica during WWII, making headsets for the military. She retired as a Home Health Aid for St. Lawrence County Health Care. Mrs. Wayering liked to cook, go boating, and work on word searches. She loved to talk to people, gave everyone a chance, and wasn't shy to give her opinion on matters. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, the Altar Rosary Society, and the Edwards Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Her survivors include two sons, Don Wayering Jr and his companion, Shirley Sullivan, Jim Wayering and his wife, Karen; two brothers, Louis and his wife Bernice Jockimo, Andrew Jockimo; and a sister, Jean Faden. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Sarah and Donald Wayering; three step-grandchildren, Ellwood, Bianca, and Timothy Fadden; a step-great grandson, Benjamin Cunningham; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Pat is predeceased by a sister, Angie Berge?; a brother, Dominick Jockimo; and two former daughters-in-law, Mary Hunter and Tammy Madore Prater.
