She enjoyed knitting and crocheting until her eyesight became too poor to see well enough to do it. She listened to Christian audio books and enjoyed Christian TV stations. Listening to old hymns brought her joy. She loved visiting and spending time with her family which included many nieces and nephews. She read her Bible and devoted time to pray for her family and friends daily. She was quite a good cook as well. Many people including family would ask her to make doughnuts which she always made from scratch. Her fired chicken was also notable. She was very bold in sharing her faith. She would often ask people if they went to church or if they knew her Jesus. A saying that she always said to people as they would leave was, "Be safe on the highway".
