Obituary of Robert C. White

OSWEGATCHIE- Robert Charles White, age 52 of Oswegatchie, passed away suddenly at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. Calling hours will be on Friday, November 1, 2013 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at French Family Funeral Home in Star Lake. His funeral service will be on Saturday, November 2nd at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Philip Giardino officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Oswegatchie Cemetery. Condolences may be made online to www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Robert was born on July 3, 1961 in Star Lake, NY to Marelyn E. White. He graduated from Clifton-Fine Central School in 1979. He entered into the United States Marine Corp in 1986 and served until his honorable discharge in 1988. Robert worked as a rough neck for various oil fields in Texas, until becoming disabled. He was a member of the St. Regis Mohawk Indian Reservation. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and fixing cars. He loved spending time with his children and he especially enjoyed watching them play sports. Robert took care of a lot of children in the neighborhood. His family was very important to him. Robert is survived by his long time companion of 23 years, Rebecca McDougall and their children, Matthew John McDougall of Oswegatchie, Amy Jo Hilts of Pelham, NY, Robert Charles White Jr. of Oswegatchie and Ashley Jean White of Oswegatchie; a granddaughter, Rhiannon Barbrow; his mother, Marelyn E. White and his uncle, Merril White. Robert also lived part of his childhood with Margaret and Walter Boula and their children: Judy Neaez of Zepherhills, FL, James Boula of Madrid, NY, Jeff Boula of Wyoming, Jean Boula-Peabody of Central Square, Julie House of Central Square and Joseph Boula of Star Lake and their families. Robert is predeceased by John Boula. Donations may be made in Robert's memory to the Star Lake Food Pantry.
