Obituary of Nora Mae Finley

STAR LAKE - Nora Mae Finley, age 70, of Star Lake, passed away at home on Monday, November 18, 2013 under the loving care of her family and Hospice. There will be a memorial service in the Oswegatchie Baptist Church, on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Roger Benjamin officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Nora may go to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, 197 Summer Street, Buffalo NY 14222 or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 7, East Syracuse NY 13057. Nora was born on August 8, 1943 in Fine to the late George Austin, Sr. and Elsie (Webb) Austin. Nora attended the Clifton-Fine Central School and married Jeremiah "Jerry" A. Finley on January 29, 1961. Nora was a member of the Oswegatchie Baptist Church where she loved to make cookies and candies for the church children. She enjoyed spending time on her computer, cooking, working on crafts, and time spent with her family. Nora loved a good laugh, liked to play tricks on people, and to buy gag-gifts for friends and family. Her survivors include her husband, Jerry; her children, Doreen Copeland, Darlene McLean, Kerry Bush, Kathleen Finley, Rose Mary Miller, and Andrew "Andy" Finley; a brother, Aloysious "Pee Wee", and a sister, Eva Peck. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Nora is predeceased by her parents; and siblings, Sarah McBroom, Elsie Fifield, Alice Austin, Alvin "Tarz" Austin, Arthur Austin, George Austin Jr., Andrew Austin, Edwin Austin, and Charles Austin.
