STAR LAKE- Joan A. Grammo, age 91, of Star Lake, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Samaritan Keep Home in Watertown.
Joan was born on October 16, 1932 in Tupper Lake, NY to the late Earl and Nora (Cudhea) Trudeau. She graduated from Tupper Lake High School in 1951. Joan married Ronald Grammo on December 28, 1952 in Tupper Lake. Ronald passed away on April 13, 1999.
Joan kept busy making her life with raising her 7 children and being a bus driver at Clifton-Fine Central School for 18 years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and reading. She loved her dogs like they were her children and she loved making her "hockey puck" hamburgers with Wavy Lays and Heluva Good Dip. And, of course there was always vanilla ice cream.
Surviving are her seven children, Lynn (Bill-predeceased) Gebo of Hermon, Lori and George MacAleese of Indiana, Mike and Marion Grammo of Star Lake, Teri (Murray-predeceased) Smithers of Oswegatchie, Tracey and Mike Solon of Russell, Kelly and Craig LaPlante of North Carolina and Dana Grammo and his partner Trudy Boyea of Malone. She also has 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Joan is predeceased by her husband Ronald; parents, Earl and Nora; a brother, Robert Trudeau and a sister, Connie Godin.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 at St. Hubert's Cemetery in Star Lake at 11:00 a.m. A celebration of life will be held at the American Legion after. Arrangements are with French Family Funeral Home. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.
