Obituary of Dorothy E. Carson

GOUVERNEUR - Dorothy E. Carson, age 93, of Gouverneur, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013 at the St. Joseph's Home in Ogdensburg. There will be a memorial service in the spring. Dorothy was born on September 27, 1920 in Gouverneur to the late Lester and Lucy (Bristlan) LaQuier. She graduated from the Gouverneur Central School in 1939. Dorothy married James Robert Carson from Gouverneur on May 6, 1951. The couple lived in Gouverneur where Dorothy worked in the Food Service Department for the High School from 1973 until her retirement in 1993 at the age of 73. James passed away on October 9, 1973. Mrs. Carson enjoyed going to yard sales, crocheting, and working on puzzle books. She absolutely loved her poodle, Coco. Dorothy was a member of the Gouverneur VFW Ladies Auxiliary for 46 years. Her survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Patti Wilson of Gouverneur, Suzie and Tom Zaluski of Edwards; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Gregory, Michelle, and Matthew; and five great-grandchildren, Sommer, Caleb, Cloe, Alivia, and Peyton. She is predeceased by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Henry, Glenn and Francis; and five sisters, Florence, Bernita, Betty, Winifred and Frieda.
