Obituary of James Dale Bullock

EDWARDS- James "Jimmy" Dale Bullock, age 61, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, January 3, 2014. Calling hours for Jimmy Dale will be on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Edwards. His funeral service will be on Thursday, January 9th at 11:00 a.m. at the Edwards Methodist Church with Rev. Beth Benham officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Edwards. Condolences may be made online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Jimmy Dale was born on December 8, 1952 in Gouverneur, NY to the late James R. and Ruth C. (LaRock) Bullock. He graduated from Edwards Central School in 1971 and then went on to Conservation School. Jimmy Dale married Kathleen A. Briggs on September 7, 1974 at the Edwards Methodist Church. Jimmy Dale worked as a maintenance man for E.J. Noble Hospital in Gouverneur, and then worked for Niagara Mohawk for a while clearing trees from wires. But, mostly he worked as a farmer on his parents' farm, Holstein Farm in Edwards. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, building picnic tables, pitching a baseball to the kids, playing cards (especially crazy 8's), and playing kick ball. He loved his family and was always "high fiving" the grandchildren. He was also known for his very distinctive "whistle". Jimmy Dale is survived by his wife, Kathleen of Edwards; a son and his wife, Stanley and Stacy Bullock of Chittenango, NY; three daughters and their spouses, Micky Bullock and her fianc, Harold Cook of Russell, Jennifer and Travis Averill of Edwards and Emily and P.J. Susice of Massena; a brother, Robert Bullock of Ogdensburg; two sisters, Susan and Howard Paige of Russell and Cynthia Bullock and her companion, John Holly of Edwards; and ten grandchildren.
