Obituary of Keith E. Hall

EDWARDS - Keith E. Hall, aged 75, 114 Bellport Ave., Bellport NY 11772, passed away on December 23, 2013 at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital, Patchogue, NY on Long Island. There will be a graveside service for Keith on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gates Cemetery, Edwards under the direction of French Funeral Home. Calling hours and services were held at Robertaccio Funeral Home, Patchogue, Long Island on December 26. Keith was born on June 14, 1938 in Harrisville, NY to the late Gerald and Laura (Caswell) Hall. He was a 1957 graduate of Edwards Central School. He went on to obtain an Associate degree in applied science for radiologic technology at North Country Community College, Saranac Lake NY. He was a dedicated employee of Brookhaven Memorial Hospital, Patchogue, NY for 34 years as an x-ray technician, where he also taught many students. He was passionate about teaching and taking care of patients. Keith played guitar and sang in country bands since the age of 17. He had a heart for entertaining and played in clubs all over Long Island. He was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying professional baseball. He played on many softball teams and leagues on Long Island until the age of 74. Keith actually started the hospital league in Suffolk County. He was a great sportsman and eventually also became an umpire. He was a member of the Patchogue United Methodist Church and enjoyed the friendships of many church members. He loved the Lord. He is survived by his companion of 38 years, Maureen Higman. Survivors also include three children from a marriage to Barbara Pomerville; his son, Edward Hall of Poughkeepsie, NY, a daughter, Lori and David Campbell of Edwards, NY, a daughter, Rebecca and Richard Peabody of Oswegatchie, NY, a brother, Gary and Bonnie Hall and a sister, Patsy and Bruce Hotaling, both of South Edwards, NY. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Keith is predeceased by his parents, Gerald and Laura, a sister, Beth Hall Planty, and a great-granddaughter, Lily Pike. Memorial donations may be sent to the Patchogue United Methodist Church, 10 Church Street, Patchogue NY 11772. He will always be on our minds and in our hearts. He loved us all dearly and we will always love him, father, brother, son, companion and friend.
