Obituary of Edwin E. Rice

EDWARDS- Edwin E. Rice, age 67, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Gouverneur Hospital. Calling hours for Edwin, will be on Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m., and on Friday, July 25th from 12:00-1:00 p.m. with his funeral immediately following at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Edwards. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Edwin was born on November 2, 1946 in Edwards, NY to the late Everett E. and Marion (Wood) Rice. He attended Edwards Central School. Edwin worked as an exterminator and then was a landscaper in Palmira, NY. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and 4-wheeling. Surviving are seven sisters, Margaret McIntosh of Palmira, Barbara McIntosh of Carthage, Lois Davis of Edwards, Frances Damon of Adams Center, Donna Soper of Edwards, Elizabeth Rose of Harrisville and Sharon Horne of Edwards. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Edwin is predeceased by a brother, Silas Rice. At the families request, instead of flowers they would prefer donations be made to the Edwards Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 29, Edwards, NY 13635.
