HAILESBORO- Kenley James Peck, age 83, of Hailesboro, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
There will be a graveside service for Kenley on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery with military honors. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home, Gouverneur.
Kenley was born on January 3, 1931 in Hailesboro, NY to the late Everett and Bessie (Stone) Peck. He attended school in Hailesboro and graduated from Gouverneur High School. In 1951 he entered into the United States Army serving in the Korean War until his honorable discharge in 1954. During his service in the Army, he was awarded the Korean Service Medal with three bronze stars.
He married Marion Patton on November 6, 1954 at the Gouverneur United Methodist Church. Kenley retired as maintenance supervisor from Kinney Drugs after 25 years. He was also a former member of the Gouverneur Elks Lodge. Kenley enjoyed woodworking and also loved restoring antique cars.
Surviving is his wife, Marion of Hailesboro; three daughters, Nancy and John Berbrich of Russell, Mary Jean and Timothy LaLonde of Manlius, and Kimberly and her late husband Danny Duprey of Lisbon; three sons and their wives, Kenley L. and JoAnne Peck of Syracuse, David E. and Gena Peck of Killeen, Texas, and Joseph W. and Jacqueline Peck of Norfolk; and two sisters, Marjorie Hughes of Hailesboro and Ruth Reynolds of Gouverneur; 21 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Kenley is predeceased by a son, Kenley J. Peck Jr. and a brother, Richard Peck.
