Obituary of Nathaniel J. Bresett

GOUVERNEUR- Nathaniel J. Bresett Jr., age 73, of Gouverneur, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Gouverneur Hospital. There will be calling hours for Nathaniel on Wednesday, August 27th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. There will be no funeral service. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Nathaniel was born on November 20, 1940 in Morristown to the late Nathaniel J. and Flossie B. (McIntosh) Bresett. He attended school in Balmat. Nate married Ruth Denton on February 8, 1977. Mr. Bresett worked as a tree surgeon for Cherokee Tree Services in Harrisville. He had previously worked for the Town of Fowler and for Diamond Drill. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars and bikes and scrapping metal. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Christina Hoffman and her companion Richard Allen of Gouverneur; three sons, Wade Bresett and his fianc Laura Dashnaw of Rochester, Bruce Bresett of Gouverneur and Wayne Bresett and his fianc Emily Green of Gouverneur; two brothers, Buckley Bresett of Gouverneur and Nick Bresett of Harrisville; a sister, Faith Rogers of Harrisville and six grandchildren, one great grandchild and one on the way. Nathaniel is predeceased by a grandson, Justin Bresett.
