Obituary of Marjorie L. Clement

GOUVERNEUR - Mrs. Marjorie L. Clement, age 86, of Gouverneur, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2014 at The Country Manor Nursing Home in Carthage. There will be a gathering at Marjorie's son, Walter's home on 38767 US Rt. 11, Antwerp on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. Condolences may be made at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Marjorie was born on May 7, 1928 in Gouverneur to the late Charles and Lillian (Mashaw) Phelps. She attended school in Gouverneur and married Richard L. Clement on July 7, 1946. Mr. Clement passed away on April 8, 1995. Mrs. Clement was a homecare provider, living in Talcville until moving to Gouverneur in 1996. She was a member of the Senior Citizens groups in Gouverneur, Edwards, Dekalb, and Antwerp. Her survivors include a son, Walter Clement; three daughters, Dodie Woods, Roxanne Greiner, and Bundy Hayden. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by two sons, Michael and Randy Clement; her three sisters, Julia Shampine, Marion Bailey, Luella Cole; and her five brothers, Clarence, Glenn, Walton, Pete, and Ralph Phelps.
