NEWTON FALLS- Ronald L. Swinyer, age 50, of Newton Falls, NY passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2012 in Burlington, VT due to complications he had in a motorcycle accident that happened in August.
Calling hours will be on Monday, October 15th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at French Family Funeral Home in Star Lake. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, October 16th at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Beth Benham officiating. On line condolences may be made to www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.
Ron was born on February 18, 1962 in Canton, NY to the late Morton and Shirley (Smith) Swinyer. He attended Colton Central School. He married Tiffany Wood on December 5, 1987 in Cranberry Lake.
Ron worked as a truck driver for Kinney Drugs until he became disabled. He enjoyed NASCAR, classic and muscle cars, watching football, Harley Motorcycles, playing computer games and was an avid New York Giants fan.
He is survived by his wife, Tiffany of Newton Falls; five sons and their companions, Ronald Swinyer Jr. and Donna Martin of Lewiston, ME, Christopher Swinyer and Janey Whisenat of Denver, CO, Erik Swinyer of Newton Falls, Nicholas Swinyer of Lakewood, CO and Kyle Burr of Oklahoma; a daughter and her companion, Hailey Swinyer and Ryan Clement of Canton; his girls, Dota and Noelle; two brothers, Daniel and Marge Swinyer of Oswegatchie and Morton Swinyer of Star Lake; two sisters, Melissa Thivierge of Catawissa, PA and Robin and Red Coller of Potsdam; his best friend, Casey and Val McCarthy; two grandsons, one step grandson and two step granddaughters and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is predeceased by his parents; a brother, Gordon; son Justin Valentine and a granddaughter, Kaitlyn.
