Obituary of Gary E. Hall

EDWARDS – Gary E. Hall, age 71, of Edwards, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2014 at the Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. Calling hours will be at French Funeral Home, Edwards on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. with a Masonic service held at 7:30 p.m. His funeral service will be on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Edwards. Gary was born on March 15, 1943 in Harrisville to the late Gerald and Laura (Caswell) Hall. He graduated from the Edwards Central School in 1961. Gary married Bonnie Ward on May 10, 1964 at the Edwards Assembly of God. Gary worked at the Edwards IGA until 1969 when he started working for Gouverneur Talc. He retired from Gouverneur Talc as the production foreman in 2004. Mr. Hall was a member of the Wildwood Masonic Lodge #477 and an exempt member of the Edwards Volunteer Fire Department. Gary loved spending time with his family, especially at family get-togethers. He enjoyed hunting and loved camping in the summer months. His survivors include his wife, Bonnie of Edwards; a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Mark Simpson of Edwards; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Michele Hall of Star Lake, Terry and Kimberly Hall of Degrasse; his sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and S. Bruce Hotaling of Edwards; 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his brother, Keith Hall; a sister, Beth Planty; and his best friend, his dog, Bud.
