Obituary of Iva Loop

RUSSELL- Iva Loop, age 96, of Russell, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley. Services for Iva will be private for her family. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Iva was born on May 17, 1918 in the Town of Russell to the late Forrest and Emma Mae (Pearl) Law. She attended school in Colton, NY. Iva married Fay H. Loop on May 13, 1937 in Hermon, NY. Fay passed away on November 2, 2011. Iva worked as a cook for several diners. She had worked at McCarthy's Restaurant, Tony's Diner, Dell's Diner in Edwards, Talbot's Diner, Diners in Harrisville and Heuvelton and then retired from the Tick Tock in Canton. She also helped her son, Lawrence, at Loopy's Diner in Dekalb. She was a member of the Russell Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, gardening and taking care of the elderly. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Glenn and Honey Loop of Cebu City, Philippine and Lawrence "Sonny" and Sandra Loop of Russell; three daughters and their husbands, June and Roy Jenne of Russell, Emma and Arnold Fountain of Russell and Jewel and Ronald Carlin of DeGrasse; and a half sister, Mary Coffee of Virginia. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is predeceased by two grandsons, Greg and Ronald Fountain; six brothers, Nelson, Hubbard, Herbert, Ivan, Eldon and Richard Law; and five sisters, Eunice Sequin, Grace Loop, Helen Gooddale, Ella Moore and Edith Fowler. Donations may be made in Iva's memory to a charity of ones choice.
