My sincere condolences to Buddy's family. I remember Bud with very fond memories from high school and hanging out with his friends (Carl, Lynn and his cousin Eddie) and his sister, Alice. Bud was my first boyfriend and best friend.
From what I have read, he was a good man. He will be greatly missed and remembered often. Rest in Peace. May God be with all your family always.
Love to all,
Joanne Law

Aunt Gloria & Family,
As I sit here thinking about all of the great memories I have of Bud I am once again reminded that tomorrow is never promised. I do have some great memories of Bud though. He taught me how to in his words " Shoot a proper Game of Pool" Because if you are a Dowling one thing you are taught from the crib is how to Shoot Pool. I have many memories of meeting Bud on his Bike... Leather Jacket, T-shirt, Awesome boots and Blue jeans. Just as Angie and I reminisced a few days ago he wasn't a suit and tie person lol... He did Dress up for my wedding though nice dress shirt and I think brand new jeans with his signature Leather jacket and awesome Boots and Karen looking her best in a beautiful dress another great memory for me. Now as I think about tomorrow and saying adieu I think of not only all of my "old" memories but the "NEW" one I have in mind. Bud and Uncle Red are racing around the Pearly Gates with Saint Peter Close Behind . Oh if you could only see LOL.....

I was so shocked and saddened by the new about Bud. I was working in the Fine post office last fall when he came in for his mail. I hadn't seen him since California in the 70's. We talked about the old days a bit. It was nice. I remember Mark, Tom, and Alice all being in California at the same time along with others from the North Country. He will definitely be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

Bud was there when I got off the plane to move here from Southern California. I had my baby girl, Victoria, age 10 months, in my arms. My husband, Jim, was driving the UHaul here with all our belongings. I remember getting off the plane in Syracuse...and looking around....and there was Bud. He drove me to his home in Harrisville. I cried the whole drive, as I was leaving my family. Bud was so supportive. He told me about growing up here. He told me about raising kids in the North Country. He made that drive more important to me... than anyone will ever know!! Bud made me laugh. He made me smile. He made it ok.....and that's all that mattered. Bud made me feel right at home, just as he did in Lakewood, CA. I would not have gotten through that move without Bud & Karen, Angie & Brian. Thank you Bud for being there for me.
God has a very special place in Heaven for you, and I know you are smiling down on us.

Our deepest sympathy to the Dowling family. Bud was such a good guy. He was always smiling, laughing and such a kind and caring man. Most of my memories of Bud is when he lived in Lakewood, CA. I was good friends with Karen and was at their house all the time. Bud was always working or fixing something. I was there for the birth of both their children. Angie and Brian called me Aunt Sondra way before I married their Uncle Jim. Bud really knew his cars!! He fixed my Jeep once, when no one else knew what was wrong with it. Memories of going to the beach, campfires in their back yard, and taking the kids to Santa's Village to see the snow. LOL Then we all moved back to the North Country. It is with a heavy heart to have to say goodbye to a good old friend and ex-brother in law.
Thoughts, prayers, hugs, and all of love to his family and friends.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know the family of Wendell does not know me. I
am director of the Edwards Library and Wendell has stopped in now and then
to use our public access computers which is how I have become acquainted
with him. I lived in Fine for a few years so we knew some of the same people.
Condolences are extended to the family

What a great picture of Bud, that is how I remember him, "in the old days". Even though it has been many years since we have been in touch, you can't take away all those memories of California that we all shared. My condolences to his whole family. May you rest in peace old friend.

Bud... This makes it too real to me. I cant believe you are gone.. You were a wonderful brother to me and I am going to miss showing up at your house, on our motorcycles when we are in town to try and convince you to come with us. Hopefully you can now join us on one of our trips and be our guardian angel of the road by scaring away all those animals that love to show up uninvited. I am going to miss you terribly... I will always be there for yours. Love your little? cute? sister. Alice
