Obituary of Freida M. Tomlinson

GOUVERNEUR- Freida M. Tomlinson, age 92, of Fullerville in Gouverneur, passed away on Thursday, May 07, 2015 at her home. Calling hours for Freida will be on Sunday, May 10, 2015 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Frances Hemstreet of the Harrisville United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Thompson Cemetery in Fowler. Condolences may be made online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Freida was born on July 29, 1922 in Watertown, NY to the late Gary E. and Alice D. (Degaris) Dake. She attended Fish Creek Rural School and then attended Heuvelton High School for one year and then one year at Morristown High School. A marriage to Harry Streeter was annulled; she married Leon S. Thompson on July 23, 1956. Leon passed away in December of 1988. Freida married Everett L. Tomlinson on July 20, 1989. Everett passed away on March 13, 2002. Freida was a hairdresser all of her life. From 1961 to 1989 she had a beauty shop in Hermon. She was also a bus driver for Hermon Central School for 16 years. Freida has lived in Fullerville since 1989. She was a member of the Hairdresser's Association. She love playing the organ, knitting and hunting. Surviving are three sons, Paul L. Streeter and his companion Darlene Parah of Gouverneur, Leon D. and his wife Jean Thompson of Edwards and Kevin R. Thompson of Gouverneur; a step son, Everett L. Tomlinson, Jr. of Glendale, AZ; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Donations may be made in Freida's memory to the Fowler Baptist Church.
