Obituary of William G. McIntosh

GOUVERNEUR- William G. McIntosh, age 66, of Gouverneur, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA. There will be a celebration of life gathering for William on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 from 12:00-4:00 p.m. at the Gouverneur Elks Lodge. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. William was born on February 4, 1949 in Gouverneur, NY to the late Melborn and Eleanor (Link) McIntosh. He graduated from Gouverneur Central School in 1968. He married Darline Pritty in 1968. The marriage ended in divorce. He married Kathleen "Kay" Denesha on September 28, 1979. Bill worked in construction for Harmer Burritt for six years before retiring. He had previously worked for Gouverneur Talc. He was a member of the Gouverneur Elks Lodge. Bill enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, playing and watching hockey, riding his motorcycle and woodworking. He also enjoyed classic cars and had belonged to a local classic car club. Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Sherry and Dennis McGrath of El Cajon, CA and Christine and Donald Klock of Theresa, NY; a step son and his wife, Ivan and Barbara Shampine; two brothers, Robert McIntosh of Edwards and Doug McIntosh of Ogdensburg; two sisters, Jean McIntosh and Barbara Morgan both of Florida; and six grandchildren, Anthony Warne, Matthew Divito, Kody Klock, Shay Divito, Brie Shampine and Evan Shampine. Bill is predeceased by a step daughter, Kimberly Divito and a sister, Sharon Harris.
