Obituary of James Lee Fuller

FOWLER- James L. "Fuzz" Fuller, age 75, of Fowler, NY, passed away at his home on Monday, January 18, 2016. Calling hours for James will be on Friday, January 22, 2016 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. His funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Orville Eacker officiating. Burial will be at Hailesboro Cemetery. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. James was born on January 25, 1940 in the Town of Fowler to the late Smith and Katherine (Macaulay) Fuller. He attended Gouverneur Central School. James married Cynthia Boney on June 27, 1964 at the Gouverneur United Methodist Church with Rev. Stanley Brown officiating. He started out working for Peck Construction in Hailesboro; he worked for Air Brake in Watertown, then, worked for the Gouverneur Co-op before working for the Town of Fowler as a truck driver. He worked for the Town of Fowler for 33 years from 1968 until his retirement in April of 2002. Fuzz was a member of the Gouverneur Elks Lodge and the Local Teamster 687. He and his wife are huge Elvis Presley fans. The couple even got the chance to see him in concert twice. Fuzz enjoyed doing word searches, playing pool, playing cards, camping, fishing, snowmobiling and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving is his wife, Cynthia; two daughters and their husbands, Bonnie Fuller and Floyd Moore of Fine and Barbara and William Finnie of Fowler; four grandchildren, Cory and Christy Fuller, Paul Weigand and Brandon Finnie and two great grandchildren; a brother, Orvis Fuller of Fowler; two sisters and their husbands, Rose and Robert Moore of Fowler and Joan and Russell Abrantes of Massena. James is predeceased by a brother, Harold "Toby" Fuller and two sisters, June Baker and Betty Weatherup. Donations may be made in James' "Fuzz" memory to the Gouverneur Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O.
