Obituary of Andrew J. Branchau

GOUVERNEUR- Andrew J. Branchau, age 43, of Gouverneur, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 22, 2012 in Ogdensburg. There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Richville Christian Fellowship Church with Rev. Michael Tomford officiating. Burial will follow at Hailesboro Cemetery. Online condolences may be made to www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Andrew was born on November 25, 1969 in Oswego, NY to James E. and Nancy (Powers) Branchau. He attended Oswego High School. He served in the United States Navy. His first wife was Cheryl (King) Branchau of Liverpool, NY. His second wife was Rebecca (Palmer) Branchau of Gouverneur, NY. Andrew worked as an insulator for GC Insulation in Minetto, NY for the last six years. He had previously worked for Lawman Heating and Cooling for many years. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, camping, being by the campfire, biking and being outdoors. Andrew is survived by his mother, Nancy E. Powers of Oswego; his father and step mother, James E. and Marjorie Branchau of Oswego; Rebecca J. Branchau of Gouverneur; his sons, Samuel J. Branchau of Liverpool and Nathan A. Branchau of Gouverneur; a daughter, Skyler J. Branchau of Gouverneur; a brother, Scott Branchau of Daytona Beach, FL; a sister, Jaymie Branchau of Oswego; and his maternal grandmother, Edith Powers of Oswego. He is predeceased by two infant sons, Gabriel A. Branchau and Nicholas A. Branchau. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Rebecca Branchau, 54 Murdock St., Gouverneur, NY 13642 as she will be setting up a trust fund for his children.
