What a wonderful long life. I (Steve) still have fond memories of both Maryann's parents from my visit to the farm back in 1969 and how warm and welcoming they were to us strangers. It was also my first and only "taste" of unpasteurized milk!
We are so sorry.

My deepest heartfelt condolences to my cousins who are saying goodbye to
their Dad.
Uncle Erton and our Dad (Conner) had a good time together, whether talking or working, they got along well. We visited the farm many summers and had the
best times, so many great memories. Dad was very interested in the workings of the farm and we kids liked to help Paul and Amy feed the calves. We went berry picking down the lane and swimming in the back yard. AuntZelda and Mom
(Lyla) would make pies, and Uncle Erton and Dad loved pie!
Steve and I always enjoyed our visits with Uncle Erton and Aunt Zelda here in Florida and in later years, Aunt Clara. He was blessed with 2 very precious ladies in his life.
Your Dad, our Uncle, will be greatly missed. He has been and will always be a family treasure.
Love and hugs to you all, your cousin Susie and Steve

I remember being in a wagon with a few other kids and adults. We were on a rough road harvesting maple sugar from the trees. There was a lot of laughter. Erton was a man that enjoyed smiling. I remember him showing me the cows and the machines in the early morning. I was small and scared. He made is look easy. "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens . . . I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God.

Our sympathy to the whole family, children and the grandchildren. Uncle Erton was a great guy, He was born just one day (same year) before my mother. He was a hard worker and in addition he was compassionate and kind. In 1972, he and Aunt Zelda visited Walt and I in Madison,Wisconsin when Walt was just finishing up his PhD degree. We had rented a U-Haul truck for our trip down to West Lafayette, Indiana. Your folks helped us load up our household to a trip the next morning. Erton helped Walt transfer a hide-away bed in a sofa (very heavy) down two fight of stairs to the truck outside. After the truck was loaded, Erton and Zelda were good sports, all of us slept on camping mattresses and bedding that last night. I just remember Erton being very young minded and also being very support. We did see each other a fair amount even though we lived some miles away. We will all miss him but I do believe that we will be united with and Aunt Zelda again in our next home. Much love, Judy and Walt
