Obituary of Donna Dancause

OGDENSBURG/EDWARDS – Donna Dancause, age 70, formerly of Ogdensburg, passed away on July 30, 2018 at her home in Edwards. There will be a calling hour held at French Funeral Home in Edwards on Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Her funeral will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Jeffrey Kimball. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Ogdensburg. Donna was born on January 13, 1948 in Ogdensburg to the late Abner and Iva LaFlair. She married Ronnie Gary Dancause and the couple lived in Syracuse briefly, having spent most of their marriage in Ogdensburg. Ronnie passed away on August 30, 2001. Donna worked as a Certified Nurses' Aid for the Cedars Nursing Home in Ogdensburg for many years. She loved to fish and used to hunt. Donna enjoyed reading and playing games including one of her favorites, Skip-Bo. She loved to go to church and to share her faith and was known to opening speak her mind. She is survived by four children, Ronald Jody and Diana Dancause of DeGrasse, Brenda and Larry Washington of Virginia, Kevin and LaKosta Dancause of Georgia, Corrina and Rob Crosby of Hammond; a brother, Raymond LaFlair of Rochester; 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and has one more on the way. In addition to her parents and her husband Donna is predeceased by a daughter, Laurie Burke; a brother, Richard LaFlair; a sister who died in infancy; and 2 great-grandchildren.
