Obituary of Donna M. Soper

EDWARDS – Donna M. Soper, age 80, of Edwards, passed away on October 25, 2018 in Syracuse. Donna was born on February 19, 1938 in Edwards, NY to the late Everett E. and Marion (Wood) Rice. She attended Knox Memorial and married Stewart Allen Soper on July 12, 1974 at the Methodist Church in Russell, NY. Stewart passed away on October 24, 2011. Mrs. Soper worked at the real property office in St. Lawrence County and was the Edwards Tax Accessor up until her retirement 3 years ago. Donna was a member of the Eastern Stars and enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. Her survivors include 9 children; Charles & Rose Rice of Michigan, Stephen Soper of Alabama, Mark & Sally Rice of Watertown, Robert & Diana Nagle of Massena, Cathy & Gilbert Webb of Watertown, Scott & Elaine Soper of Watertown, Dawn Randall of Edwards, Michelle Hatch of Hermon and Stacia & Scott Kroniser of Edwards, and 4 sisters Margaret McIntosh, Frances Damon, Elizabeth Rose, and Sharon Horne. Donna is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, her husbands, Richard Nagle, who passed away on October 17, 1972 & Stewart Soper; a son, Sherman Soper; 2 brothers, Silas and Edwin Rice; 2 sisters, Barbara McIntosh & Lois Davis, and a son-in-law, Paul Hatch. Calling hours will be held at French Funeral Home in Edwards on Monday, October 29, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Her funeral service will be held at the Edwards United Methodist Church on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
