GOUVERNEUR- Rosemary A. Otto, age 93, of Gouverneur, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Massena Memorial Hospital.
Rosemary was born on July 28, 1925 in Rossie, NY to the late Winfield and Fern (Hendrick) Goodison. She graduated from Gouverneur Central School and then went on and graduated from Canton ATC with a degree in Dietary. Rosie married Fred N. Otto on October 19, 1946 at the St. James Catholic Church. Fred passed away on August 5, 2009.
Rosemary worked for a short while at the St. James School in the kitchen, but for most of her married life, she was a homemaker raising her children. She loved to color, play Sudoku, do word searches and spend summers at Pleasant Lake. Most of all, her family was a huge priority to her, along with her animals.
Surviving are a son, Michael Otto of Macomb; three daughters, Nancy and Lyle Jobin of St. Augustine, FL, Bette Prashaw and her companion Dave Smith of Gouverneur and Carol Ormasen of Gouverneur; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband and her parents, Rosemary is predeceased by two sisters, Elizabeth Stowell and Frances Collins.
In keeping with Rosemary's wishes, services will be private for the family. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.
