GOUVERNEUR- Marvin "Jay" Dana, age 66, of Gouverneur, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2019 unexpectedly at his home.
In keeping with Jay's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.
Jay was born on September 2, 1953 in Gouverneur, NY to the late Marvin L. and Helen I. (Jackson) Dana. He graduated from Knox Memorial Central School in Russell and then graduated from Canton ATC.
Jay worked as a mechanic his whole adult life and owned and operated J&M Automotive in Gouverneur. He enjoyed building race motors with his best friend, Ronald Blair. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to the casino.
Jay is survived by his best friend, Ronald Blair and his family, that Jay treated like family. He is also survived by his Aunt, Beth Matice of Gouverneur and an Uncle, Robert Jackson of Moira and several cousins.
He is predeceased by his parents; a brother, Lyle K. Dana and a sister, who died in infancy.
