EDWARDS - Marilyn B. Saur, age 79, of Edwards, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the E.J. Noble Hospital in Gouverneur surrounded by her loving family.
Calling hours will be at French Funeral Home, GOUVERNEUR, on Saturday, June 29, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Pleasant Lake Cemetery, Brasie Corners.
Marilyn was born on June 3, 1934 in Edwards to the late Nelson Lawrence and Helen Nora (Kirkby) Blair. She attended various area schools and graduated from the Antwerp High School. Marriages to Richard Alguire and Jack B. Saur ended in divorce.
She attended Beauty School and worked at various beauty shops before owning and operating Bunny's Beauty Shop in Hailesboro. Marilyn was a member of the New Beginnings Assembly of God in Edwards, liked to bake and cook, work on crafts and to decorate. She enjoyed time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her survivors include three daughters, Crystal and James Whitford, Cathy and Mike Mullaney, Carolyn Whiteford and her companion Eugene Boclair; a son, Corey and Dana Saur; and her brother, Roger N. Blair and his companion, Sharon Frenze. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
