Noah Cook posted a condolence

I was saddened to hear of Jerry's passing. He was a good friend and a classmate of mine at ATC. We graduated from there in 1970. He was a type of person who helped me in my college years. I didn't know about college because I just came from the farm. We were housemates along with Roger Willard in downtown Canton. We hung out and did a lot of classes and activities at college. He was really a great guy and a great friend that I will never forget. He knew me as Noah Cook from Hogansburg, NY.

I remember when my family first moved to Oswegatchie just up the hill from the Durham’s house. One of my childhood memories was sliding down the road with one of the boys as the sled was too hard for me to steer. So much fun. Jerry was such a quiet guy. The bond between our families was genuine & caring. Rest In Peace Jerry. All my love to Judy, John & their families.

I will always have great memories of Jerry. He was so good to our family when I was growing up. . I will never forget his smile and how he would get upset at John when they would play cards at our house or when John would pull off one of his pranks on Jerry. They were both fun to watch. Jerry went with me to buy my first car, a Chevy Biscayne. John and Judy, your brother, will always be in my heart. My sincere condolences to the Durham family.

Jerry will be greatly missed.
He taught me many things when I was growing up, like how to make maple syrup or how to fish. I spent many hours after school tapping trees and boiling. He would also took me fishing on the river in Newton falls, he often said I caught all the fish because he had to drive the boat. My uncle did a lot for me.

Jerry was my cousin and I have fond memories of fun times with him and John when we were kids. We drifted apart as we grew up but always enjoyed the times we spent together at family gatherings. He was always a good kid and grew up to become a fine man. My condolences to the family for the loss of someone we all loved, RIP Jerry and God Bless....... Jack

Grace Parrish had eight grandchildren, four Durhams and four LaDukes. So we LaDukes feel the loss of Jerry very accutely. The younger two of us didn't have the opportunity to spend much time with Jerry after we moved away but all four of us remember a loving, funny guy picking blackberries "down back", fishing, hunting and making maple syrup. So many fine memories. We will all miss him. From Paul, Norma, Betsy and Rita

We are so sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. Growing up in Oswegatchie, we all have great memories - playing around town together, all church gatherings, riding school bus, and many more. Jerry was a great guy and always will be remembered. He was a big part of our community.

As a kid growing up on the Oswegatchie Trail Jerry (&John) always kept an eye out for our little gang of 4 Murray, Larry, Homer and I. Be it helping build a ball field on his land, for us. Stop in his garage to see the newest motorized vehicle he put together. Fix our bikes or give u a ride up the hill. As an adult he was one of the best bosses I ever worked for at NFPM. RIP “Bull”Durham you will be missed.
